New Online CHS Sports Registration
CHS Fall Student-Athletes and Parents,

I hope everyone had a great summer vacation, however, it is time to get back to work on our fall sports preseason preparations. We are excited to launch our new online sports registration system. Below is a link to our new online registration form. This system will eliminate the need to fill out and collect hard copy forms. We are using an online secured website called Formsite. All information is stored on an SSL secured site and only the school athletic department, medical staff, and administration will have access to the information generated from the form submissions. This program will also allow you to log in as a user. You will be able to save and return to your work if you need to leave your computer while completing the form.

We are highly recommending but not requiring everyone to try the new online registration this fall. We will have our paper forms available at our Fall Sports Preseason Information Night on August 25th for those of you who cannot or choose not to use the online registration system for any reason. Our goal is to have 100% online registration by the Spring of 2015.

CHS Fall Sports Preseason Meeting
This is a mandatory meeting that
will be held on Monday, August 25th at 6:45pm in the CHS Auditorium.
Student-athletes and parents receive concussion education training, review handbook rules, pay user fees, and meet with the coaching staff.

We had a terrific Spring season and had seven teams competing in

State Tournament this spring.

Two State Champs crowned on Saturday.

Girls Tennis star Emma Davis becomes the first player to win three state titles in Massachusetts history.

                  

Boys Lacrosse knocks off the two-time state champs to win their fourth State Title.

A special thanks to all the student-athletes, staff, parents, and fans that made the 2013-14 school year one of the

best in Coahsset High School history.

Girls Tennis

Emma Davis

MIAA State Individual Champion

Junior Emma Davis became the first tennis player in Massachusetts history to win three Individual State Titles on Saturday at St. John's High School In Shrewsbury.

Emma defeated Ada Wiggins of Burlington, 6-2,6-2 in the semi-finals. She then defeated four-time Central Sectional Champ Jessica Perkins of Shrewsbury 6-1, 6-3

to win her third title. Another amazing run for Emma !

June 2 Quarter-finals: Cohasset 14...Bishop Stang 3

June 5 Semi-Finals: Cohasset 15.....Hanover 6

June 7 Finals: Cohasset 13....Archbishop Williams 7

June 11 State Semi-Finals: Cohasset 10....Hamilton-Wenham 6

June 14: State Finals: Cohasset 10....Dover Sherborn 9

The Skippers defeated two-time defending State Champ Dover-Sherborn by a score of 10-9 to capture the MIAA

Div 3 State Championship on Saturday evening at Boston University's Nickerson Field. The Skipper were powwered be by junior Cole Kissick's

three goals and two each by seniors Will Golden and Colin Whelan jumped out to a 8-3 halftime lead. The defense anchored by senior captain

Jack McElgunn , junior Tim Gillis, and goalie Jack Conte held on despite a furious comeback from the defending champs. It is the fourth Boys Lax

State Title in program history and it capped off a perfect Graduation Day for our seniors.

June 4 Semi-Finals:     Cohasset 4...Martha's Vineyard 1

June 7 Finals:                 Cohasset 4...Pope John Paul II 1

June 9 State Semi-Finals: Weston 5......Cohasset 0

The Boys Tennis Teams' best tournament run ever came to an end at the hands of North Sectional Champion Weston by a score of 5-0.

The Boys and their Coaches Ann Thomae and Chris Luvisi have a great deal to be proud of winning the South Shore League and the school's

first ever South Sectional Title. Great Job!!


Girls Tennis (17-4)

South Shore League Champs

May 29 First Round: Cohasset defeated Martha's Vineyard 5-0

June 2 Quarter-Finals: Cohasset defeated Fairhaven 5-0

June 4: Semi-Finals: Ursuline Academy 4....Cohasset 1

The Girls tennis run ended yesterday with a 4-1 loss to Ursuline Academy. The SSL Champs had

a great season and still have Emma Davis competing in the State Individuals.


Girls Lacrosse (12-8)

MIAA Div 2 South Sectional Tournament

May 29 Quarter-Finals Cohasset defeated Bourne 23-11
June 3 Semi-Finals         Apponequet 10....Cohasset 9

The Girls Lax team fought hard and played a tough game against the #1 seed

Apponnequet Lakers but came up 1 goal short 10-9. The Girls had a great season

and competed against some of the best competition in Eastern Mass.

They have a great deal to be proud of.


Baseball (13-9)

MIAA Div 4 South Sectional Tournament

May 30 Preliminary Round: Cohasset defeated #21 Bristol-Plymouth 12-5

May 31 First Round:   Archbishop Williams 3 ...Cohasset 2

The Skippers fought back from a 3-0 deficit to close the gap to one run before being eliminated by a strong Archbishop Williams team.

Great season for the Skippers.

 

Cohasset- Hull Track and Field

May 31: MIAA Div 4 East Meet

June 7th: Maria Waters and Alexa Perez competed but did not place at Bridgewater State University.  It was a great accomplishment 

                   for both girls just to qualify for All-States this season. Great job girls!


Boys Track and Field (8-1)

Great season for the Boys who finished second in the South Shore League.

Cole Morrison 7th High Jump

Maria Waters 1st Place in High Jump (Div 4 State Champ)

Alex Perez 2nd place in Long Jump and 6th in 400m run

Maddy McNamara 5th in Javelin

Concussion Management
All students, parents and staff must complete a free online concussion education course.  You can find a link to the course along with other concussion information if you click on the "concussion management page" listed on the right side of this athletics page.  Please sign off on the completion form and submit it along with the course certificate of completion to Athletic Director Ron Ford.
Cohasset "C" Flags and Wood Signs for sale
C FLAGS
Cohasset High School "C" Flags are now on sale.  The cost is $50 ($20 of the sale goes directly to the CHS Athletic Department). 

CHS SKIPPER LOGO SIGN

This is a digital print of the original woodcarving created by Hassan Sign Company (David Hassan CHS class of 1968) for the Cohasset Middle High School entrance sign. The print is mounted to a piece of cutout black Sintra and is set up for easy wall mounting.
Stock sizes are:
9” diameter - $75 ($25 to CHS Athletics)
16” diameter - $100 ($30 to CHS Athletics)
